Phase 2 development
Chandigarh Arts Open is a brand new type of art and architecture happening. Its impactful theme is water and it takes place in Chandigarh (Punjab, India).
RoundGlass, whose mission is to enable the journey of “Wholistic Wellbeing & Meaningful Living™”, is launching the Chandigarh Arts Open with a focus on art, science and technology for the wellbeing of society, thus enabling the creation of a better world.
Vision
Chandigarh Arts Open’s vision is to have a positive social and economic impact. The long-term idea is to create a Chandigarh Art, Water Research & Solutions Centre that will explore and foster ways for art, design, science, and technology to interact jointly to reinforce research, innovation, and communication, with a focus on current and future water challenges in India and planet Earth. But first and foremost, it is an international art and architecture happening.
Concept
The arts provide opportunities for people to learn about sustainable systems and to see them in action. Collaborative laboratories with international universities investigating, developing and creating long-term, human-centred solutions are the essential instruments and engines of Chandigarh Arts Open to develop sustainable and educational projects.
The goal is to offer a platform that investigates new creative solutions in context with water. The team researches and develops projects that will be implemented on site. Results, local art and architecture exhibitions and event programs will be presented at the Chandigarh Arts Open. Paving the way to water solutions on a bigger scale and to the water center.
The unique combination of art, technology and science creating long-term water solutions will support Chandigarh Arts Open’s ambition to become one of India’s key art-related international happenings with positive social and economical impact on the region, attracting a global audience from the art and architecture world, as well as the science and technology world.
